In 2016, a Hindi biopic about Khudiram Bose, 'Main Khudiram Bose Hoon', was being made in Bollywood. While collecting some information about Khudiram at the request of the dialogue writer of the film, Arindam felt that no book contained complete information about him and much of the information that was available was misleading. Thinking about that, Arindam felt the desire to write a book about Khudiram. Arindam Bhowmik grew up in Khudiram's city, Midnapore. While researching Khudiram, he came to know that Khudiram's last wishes before his execution remained unfulfilled. To fulfill those last wishes, Arindam reached Muzaffarpur on August 11, 2018. He took with him the soil of Midnapore, the Charanamrit of Siddheshwari Kali Maa, etc. While returning to Midnapore, he brought with him the soil of Khudiram’s Chitabhumi and the water of the Gandak river. With that water and soil, he started a tree planting campaign in Midnapore district, naming it 'Green Khudiram'. In 2018, Arindam Bhowmik's book 'Ke Khudiram?' was published in Bengali. On August 11, 2019, he reached Muzaffarpur again. He took Khudiram's grandson Subrata Roy with him. Subrata Roy is the grandson of Khudiram's sister Aparupa Devi. Every year, Arindam celebrates Khudiram's birthday with due dignity and sincerity at Khudiram's birthplace in Midnapore city.
For a long time, Arindam had a wish in his mind that he too wanted to run like Khudiram who ran all night from Muzaffarpur to Pusa station after throwing the bomb. To fulfill that wish, this year Arindam will run from 'Shaheed Khudiram Smarak Sthal' in Muzaffarpur to Pusa Road on August 9. Arindam wanted to go by railway track. But since the railways would not allow it, he decided to cross this route by road. The distance by railway track is 42 kilometers, but Arindam will have to run 50 kilometers or a little more. Because Arindam will go to all the 6 stations between Muzaffarpur and Pusa station. That is, he will go by road to the station and again take the road to go to the next station. Arindam will complete 50 years of age this August. So he is very excited about this 50 kilometer run.
Khudiram Bose Pusa Railway Station
The purpose of this run will be to inspire the new generation with the ideals of martyr Khudiram, to say no to drugs and to plant trees. Khudiram was not just a freedom fighter. Khudiram used to take part in social service work since childhood. During floods, he would rush to flood-affected villages. During epidemics, he would serve the sick. There will be 6 stations between Muzaffarpur and Pusa Road stations. At each station, Arindam will plant trees with soil brought from Khudiram's birthplace and the Charanamrit of Siddheshwari Kali Maa.
The stations where tree plantation will be done are -
Sohanlal Azad went to Midnapore on a bicycle in 2019 on the occasion of Khudiram's birthday. Sohanlal will accompany Arindam on a bicycle. Dr. Ranganath Dibakar, retired Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Muzaffarpur, will accompany Arindam in his car. Necessary items, water, saplings, etc. will be in his car.
Arindam has already informed the District Magistrates of Muzaffarpur and Samastipur about his plan, as well as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sonepur and the Superintendent of Shahid Khudiram Bose Central Jail.
The much-awaited Hindi book 'Kaun Khudiram' will be published on August 11, Khudiram's martyrdom day. This book, written by Arindam Bhowmik, contains many unknown facts about Khudiram. There will be many important documents. There are separate comics about Khudiram for children. Letters, news published in newspapers at that time, etc. There are more than 200 color and black and white pictures in the book. Arindam said - "It is better to call it Khudiram's bomb rather than a book. Because, there is gunpowder inside it". Arindam said that "this book has been done in Bengali and Hindi, after which it will be published in English and other languages of India".
